If you have enough pre-load in the rear shocks, you may encounter a very tight clearance between the muffler and the swingarm. In most cases, the weight of the bike alone will compress the shock enough to provide plenty of clearance. However, enough pre-load will prevent the shock from compressing and can potentially cause the muffler to contact the belt tensioner cam when there is no weight on the bike.
